GADELL, WINS TIDEWATER MASTERS IN A
THREE-WAY PLAYOFF
May 18, 2008
WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia (TAGT) – Virginia Beach’s Tim Gadell won a nail-biting three-way
playoff against compatriot Chet Natale and Yorktown’s Ben Walker to win his first career
Tidewater Masters title at the Colonial Golf Club on Sunday.
Gadell won his first major championship back in 2005 at Bide-A-Wee. He hasn’t been able
to play much on the tour because of classes, but what a way to come back. With this victory
Gadell took home a $500 dollar Gift Card, the Masters Crystal trophy and the Navy Blue
Masters Jacket.
Gadell would shoot a pair of 89’s at Colonial Golf Club over the weekend.
Chet Natale was the first round leader with his 86, 1-stroke better than Ben Walker who had
an 87 during the opening round.
About a month ago the C & D Flights had to play at Colonial and Ben Walker won that one
day tournament.
With this victory Gadell gained 900 points and moved into 14th place in the C-Flight
standings. Points Leader – Bobby Rountree placed in a tie for 6th gaining 290 points.
Rountree holds a 223 point lead over Ben Walker in the Points Race.
