WOZNOCK made a move from 8th
to 1st with his Finals VICTORY!
October 5, 2008

CHESAPEAKE, Virginia (TAGT) – Virginia Beach’s Bob
Woznock became the unlikely Champion on Sunday in the D-
Flight.  His first round 86 was good enough for a 5-stroke lead
heading into the final round.  That 86 he shot on Saturday is
one of four nominees for the Best Round of the Year.

Woznock gained 1350 points for his Victory at Cahoon
Plantation the Local Finals host course for 2008.  Coming into
the final Chase Cup tournament Woznock was in 8th place and
to win the Chase Cup he would need some help from the
players in front of him.  Of course, he still had to win at Cahoon
which is no easy task.

This season many of the early D-Flight winners were moved up
during the first half of the tour season.  That created a great
field of D-Flight players left and such an even match across the
board.

The final four Chase Cup tournaments were won by four
different players.  The first at Heron Ridge was won by Rafael
Clemente (9035 - 3rd).  The second at Royal New Kent was
won by Isaac Ray Corbitt (9175 - 2nd).  Finally the third at
Nansemond River was won by Sante Squires (8420 - 9th).
Woznock was the fourth different winner during the Chase Cup
playoffs with his Local Finals Victory (86-95).

Going into the Chase Cup playoffs the last three regular
season tournaments Woznock was unbelievable.  He won at
Virginia Beach National, took third at Kiskiack and won again at
Cypress Creek.

Congrats Bob on your 2008 Chase Cup Championship!
