TUTTLE WINS HIS FIRST CHASE
CUP and SIXTH TOURNEY of 08'!
October 5, 2008
CHESAPEAKE, Virginia (TAGT) – Virginia Beach’s Chris Tuttle is one of
the top area golfers in Hampton Roads. His quest to be the best
includes play in almost every big Amateur golf tournament in the area
and the State. Tuttle now has the 2008 CHASE CUP to add to his trophy
case which includes the navy blue 2008 Masters Jacket, the 2008 VA
Amateur Championship Trophy and the Local Finals trophy. Three
majors in one season is almost unheard of, or is it?
The other Major winners in 2008 include Charles Lyon (Players
Championship) and Nick Crowe (Open Championship). Tuttle will once
again go south to represent Tidewater in the Amateur Golf Tour National
Championship Tournament and lead the Virginia Tour’s team effort to
capture the Virginia vs. Louisiana Challenge Cup.
Last year Tuttle won the Open Championship at Bide-A-Wee Golf
Course, his first of his four tour major victories -- a new Tour Record. He
has won a total of eight times over the last two seasons on the Tidewater
Tour. This season alone Tuttle has cashed in on $3300 dollars in Gift
Cards, another TOUR Record. That includes his $500 dollar Gift Card for
his Championship Flight Chase Cup victory. When asked, “So Chris,
what are you going to buy?”, he replied "New Titleist Irons, Driver, the
works". Chris is a family guy and a great tour member.
During 2008 Chris Tuttle played in 13 tournaments on the Tidewater Tour
and won six of them. Tuttle placed in the Top-5 in all 13 tournaments he
played in. Collecting a gift card in all but two tournaments in 2008. With
his six victories he also had three runner-up finishes.
Congrats Chris on finishing a great Tour year with your first Chase Cup
Championship!
