To all 2012 Rookies, Welcome! Let me take this opportunity to welcome you to, I believe, the best run tour of the 43 Tours that are associated
with Golf Week Amateur Tour around the country. You are about to embark on journey that will both test and challenge your golfing skills over
some of finest courses in Southeast Virginia and Northeast North Carolina and then if you are lucky enough, the beautiful courses of Hilton
Head Island in South Carolina. You will definitely experience the thrill of competition in what we believe to be the closest experience you will
ever have to the PGA Tour.
What can you expect from playing on the Tidewater Golf Week Amateur Tour? As Tour Rookies I’m sure you have multiple questions that you
would like answered before you begin play. Fortunately there are a couple of excellent links to review that might answer some of your most
pressing questions and they are; http://www.amateurgolftour.net/faqs.asp and http://www.agtva.net. While on the agtva.net sight you will find
the Tour Rule Book and the Tidewater Tour Local Addendum, please take a few minutes of your time to review these two documents and
begin to understand that playing this game by the rules is challenging. A couple of helpful areas to focus on while reviewing these documents
would be; how you are flighted based on your handicap or lack thereof and how weather can affect the playing of a tournament. I’m sure that
you may still have multiple questions after reviewing these links so I have attached my information and Mr. Tom Brady’s information below, you
can contact either of us regarding any questions you may still have. As a final thought, while you are on the AGTVA website take a few
minutes and browse through the History and National Champs buttons to begin to get a feel for the type of players that you will be playing with
and hopefully the friendships that you will develop throughout the season.
Now for the business end of this tour, or just in case you may have some questions or concerns about how it is run. First and foremost this is
not your local weekend Men’s League; this is a business franchise venture that Lyle runs as one of the finest Golf Tours in the entire Golf
Week Amateur Tour network. I can tell you that Tom and I have played in other Tour’s events and none of them come close to the value or the
experience that you will receive while playing on this tour. We can tell you that the Golf Channel Tour or the Golf Galaxy Tour doesn’t have
the same quality or perks that you will receive playing on this tour.
So all I can say is Welcome to the Tidewater Golf Week Amateur Tour, I sincerely hope all your experiences are favorable, but if you should
